Dr. Jeffrey Rouse is an Assistant Professor at Tulane University in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. He was elected and served as Coroner of Orleans Parish from 2014 to 2018. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Duke University in 1996, received his M.D. from Georgetown University in 2000, and completed training in adult psychiatry and forensic psychiatry at Tulane University. Dr. Rouse is a board-certified forensic psychiatrist on staff at Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System and Community Forensic Services. He conducts forensic psychiatric evaluations for criminal and civil purposes and has served as a consultant to the New Orleans Police Department, various local courts, and various law enforcement and military organizations. His research interests include structural and functional neuroimaging of emotional regulation brain networks, the neural substrates of meditation and real time neurofeedback, and forensic applications of neuroimaging.
